Kickoff Mixer! Graduate Research Forum
Graduate Students and Faculty Welcome
The Environmental Resilience Institute’s Research Forum is a student-led community supporting graduate students and faculty across Grounds, advancing resilience and sustainability research. The Kickoff Mixer will be a great time to get together with graduate students and faculty from across Grounds committed to advancing resilience and sustainability.
From the humanities to engineering, from data science to prospective lawyers, you are welcome to meet up and be part of what’s to come. Karen McGlathery, Director of ERI will welcome attendees and give an overview of the opportunities for students available through ERI, including the Summer Fellows program, and Internships. There will also be opportunities to shape the Research Forum itself. We invite you to be the catalyst for resilience and sustainability you seek! Signup to sit on the Research Forum’s leadership team, suggest guest lecturers, be a resource for other students, or consider hosting informal activities that help keep the community thriving.
Refreshments provided by the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs. You must be 21 or older to attend.

This thriving community organizes regular events to foster interdisciplinary conversations, hosting lectures from UVA faculty and beyond, and regular open house events to foster connections between students. ERI’s Research Forum ensures students and faculty alike are aware of how to access resources across Grounds, and use them in novel and cutting-edge research that will make a difference. We use both face-to-face and online tools to build our community and train the next generation of leaders through workshops and workforce training opportunities. The ERI Research Forum receives support from ERI staff, and the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs.
