A Building Bridges Lecture with Rita Colwell
Rita Colwell is a Distinguished Professor, and a nationally respected scientist and educator. She has held many advisory positions in the U.S. Government, nonprofit science policy organizations, and private foundations, including having served as the eleventh director of the National Science Foundation (NSF) from 1998 to 2004. She has authored or co-authored 17 books and more than 800 scientific publications.
Dr. Colwell’s interests are focused on global infectious diseases, water, and health. She has developed an international network to address emerging infectious diseases and water issues, including safe drinking water for both the developed and developing world.
We welcome Dr. Colwell for our Building Bridges lecture series. The lecture will be hosted at the Rotunda Dome Room at 4pm on January 21st, with a reception to follow immediately afterwards.
