Description of Position

Put your interest in environmental, sustainability, and resiliency issues to use assisting Resilient Virginia, which is working to accelerate community resiliency initiatives around the state.

We are planning our July 18-19, 2019 Resilient Virginia Conference, to be held at the Darden School of Business, UVA. An intern will help with contacting relevant organizations and state agencies, businesses, and university programs around the state to let them know about the conference, encourage their participation, and secure partners who will help us reach out to a broad array of possible attendees.

Resilient Virginia, a non-profit organization, was organized in July 2014 to inform, educate, and activate key community, business, and government stakeholders around the state to undertake resiliency initiatives.  Resiliency is defined as the capacity to maintain or regain functionality and vitality in the face of climate-related or man-made stressors or disturbances and, in the long term, to adapt to changing environmental, social, and economic conditions.
