Real-world experience combatting climate change with world-class organizations

The EI Summer Internship Program is an opportunity for undergraduate, master's, and Ph.D. students to explore career opportunities and engage in real-world applications of environmental research.

Internships run for ten weeks, typically from June to August each summer.

Positions are primarily located in Virginia and Washington, D.C., with a range of approaches represented. Interns in the past have worked with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and companies in the field. Internships are full-time positions and are appropriately compensated.

The Institute partners with the UVA Career Center to create this opportunity for students.
